"It was the most
connected I've ever felt
to my roots,” said Dan
Rosenberg, who
attended a mission in

2000 with the Young Adult Division of
the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit.
While he and other partygoers remi-
nisced, photos from recent Israel trips
flashed on TV screens across the bowl-
ing alley. Elite Kosher Catering helped
set the mood — providing falafel, hum-
mus and other Israeli fare.
The event was not just about savoring
the past — it was also meant to whet
the young adult's appetites for a return
trip to Israel. This year's YAD summer
