Food Drive Successful

Metro Detroit mail carriers recently
held the annual canned food drive,
collecting food from local residents,
which was then distributed through
food banks to local food pantries and
soup kitchens to benefit the hungry in
the community.
Locally, collected food from the
drive went to Gleaners Community
Food Bank and Oakland County
FoodBank. Gleaners and Oakland
County's FoodBank delivered more
than 36,000 pounds of the food to
Yad Ezra's warehouse in Berkley.
Volunteers from the kosher food
pantry are sorting through the food,
which is being distributed among its
1,100 client families.
