Abraham H. Foxman is
the National Director
of the Anti-Defamation
League (ADL) and is
known throughout
the world as a leader
in the fight against
anti-Semitism, hatred,
prejudice, bigotry and
discrimination.
President Bush recently
appointed Mr. Foxman
to the International
Panel on Anti-Semitism. Mr. Foxman has worked
for ADL since 1965 and was named National
Director in 1987.

A tireless supporter of the State of Israel and
the Middle East peace process, he regularly
travels to Israel and works closely with officials
there and in the United States to ensure the
safety and security of the Jewish State.

Mr. Foxman graduated from the Yeshiva of
Flatbush, in Brooklyn, NY, and earned his B.A. in
political science from the City College of the
City University of New York, graduating with
honors in history. Mr. Foxman holds a law
degree from New York University School of
Law, and did graduate work in Jewish studies at
the Jewish Theological Seminary and in
international economics at New York's New
School for Social Research.

sionals affiliated with the PACT pro-
gram in Netanya..” This fall, staff from
WSU and Federation representatives
will be traveling to Netanya to visit the
PACT program.
Highlights of the Israeli delegation's
visit included a trip to Greenfield
Village, a look at Adat Shalom
Synagogue's Hebrew Immersion
Program, a stop at Shalom Street at the
Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield and a meeting with a group
of Detroit Jewish family educators who
will be visiting Netanya's PACT pro-
gram in June.
The Israelis also toured the Friends
School in Detroit, met with nurses and
social workers of the Children's Hospital
of Michigan and visited classrooms at
WSU's Early Childhood Center. The
delegates were also able to accompany
caseworkers from the Detroit School for
the Deaf's Early Intervention Program
as they performed on-site assessments.
PACT provides early childhood inter-
vention to more than 85 percent of
Netanya's Ethiopian-Israeli children up
to age six. PACT also works to stren
en the Ethiopian-Israeli community by
promoting family, community and pro-
fessional empowerment.
