Highlights of the Israeli delegation's visit included a trip to Greenfield Village, a look at Adat Shalom Synagogue's Hebrew Immersion Program, a stop at Shalom Street at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield and a meeting with a group of Detroit Jewish family educators who will be visiting Netanya's PACT pro- gram in June. The Israelis also toured the Friends School in Detroit, met with nurses and social workers of the Children's Hospital of Michigan and visited classrooms at WSU's Early Childhood Center. The delegates were also able to accompany caseworkers from the Detroit School for the Deaf's Early Intervention Program as they performed on-site assessments. PACT provides early childhood inter- vention to more than 85 percent of Netanya's Ethiopian-Israeli children up to age six. PACT also works to stren en the Ethiopian-Israeli community by promoting family, community and pro- fessional empowerment. 9, 2004 BANK1ONE.
