On Shavuot morning, May 26, four Adat Shalom women marked the culmina-
tion of their study with Rabbi Daniel Nevins, Rabbi Herbert Yoskowitz and
Cantor Howard Glantz and ascended the bimah to become b'not mitzvah: Rhoda
Kahn, Irene Reynolds, Rita Sitron and Karen Schwartzenfeld.
Michigan Bound
Michigan-bound Rabbi Eric Yanoff Rabbi Jason Miller and Daniel Kochavi
attending the Jewish Theological Seminary's May 20 ordination and graduation
in New York. Yanoff will become rabbi of Congregation Shaarey Zedek, Miller
will take the position of associate director-rabbi at the University of Michigan
Hillel Foundation in Ann Arbor and Kochavi is the new director of education
and youth at Congregation Beth Shalom. Rabbis Miller and Yanoff were
ordained from the JTS Rabbinical School. All three received masters of arts
degrees from the William Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education.

Sisterhood will install board officers and
members at a dessert reception 7 p.m.
Wednesday, June 9, at the synagogue.
Entertainment will be provided by Penny
Steyer, cantorial soloist at Congregation
Shir Shalom.
Linda Lublin and Vicki Salinger will
be installed as co-presidents; Helene
Robins and Marylyn Sternberg, co-vice
presidents of membership; Marcia Abel,
vice president of education; and Lynn
Rich, vice president of ways and means.
Other officers include Anita Epstein,
treasurer; Marcia Tanzman, financial
secretary; Ann Barth, recording secre-
tary; and Shirley Goldstein, correspon-
ding secretary. Ellen Racusin is immedi-
ate past president and Bess Lipson is
parliamentarian.
