More than 55 members of ROBIN Hillel of Metro Detroit and the Young SCHWARTZ Adult Division of the Local Jewish Federation of Columnist Metropolitan Detroit took part in a Shabbat Dinner Exchange on April 30. Eight "host families" opened their doors and invited participants to join the exchange celebrations. "I think it's important for any- one who wants to celebrate Shabbat to have a place to go," said Julie Eisman, one of the hosts. "Shabbat is a wonderful thing and it's wonderful to have people to share it with." Around the various dinner tables old friendships were rekindled and new ones formed. Former Detroiter Edward Pevos, of Toledo, Ohio, made the one-hour trek to join a room full of people he'd never even met before.
