Dinner Exchange on April 30.
Eight "host families" opened their doors
and invited participants to
join the exchange celebrations.
"I think it's important for any-
one who wants to celebrate
Shabbat to have a place to go,"
said Julie Eisman, one of the
hosts. "Shabbat is a wonderful
thing and it's wonderful to
have people to share it with."
Around the various dinner
tables old friendships were
rekindled and new ones
formed. Former Detroiter
Edward Pevos, of Toledo,
Ohio, made the one-hour trek
to join a room full of people
he'd never even met before.
Pevos said he just wanted to
