School Cites Gruenberg
Miami (Ohio) University Hillel has
selected Justin Gruenberg of West
Bloomfield as one of two 2004 recipi-
ents of the Nicky S. Spivak Award for
Community Enhancement.
Gruenberg was chosen for his active
involvement in
Hillel and his
impact on the
Oxford, Ohio, and
university Jewish
communities.
Gruenberg did
not take part in
Jewish life on cam-
pus until he went on Gruenbero-
a Birthright Israel
trip in May 2002.
He returned to school in the fall and
became active with the Association of
Jewish Students as the social chair.
He won the presidency in 2003 and
helped bring more Jewish students to
Hillel and created Jewish programming
for the university and the town.
He is currently researching funding
opportunities for Miami University
Hillel.
