Scott Hunter Solomon will celebrate becoming a bar mitzvah at Temple Shir Shalom Friday, May 14. He is the son of Julie and David Solomon, brother of Samantha, grandson of Noreen Solomon and great-grandson of Ida Lewis. He is also the of the late Abraham Barnett Solomon, the late Ruth Blau and the late Arnold Blau. Scott is a sev- enth-grade student at Abbott Middle School in West Bloomfield. He volunteered at Temple Shir Shalom's Shabbat camps and fed the homeless with Jewish Federation for his mitzvah projects. William Ryan Joseph Whiting "Billy" (Yisrael ben Yisrael) of Bloomfield Hills will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah Saturday, May 15, at Temple Beth El. He is the son of MernaLyn and the fifth generation of his family at the temple. His very proud grandmother is Myldred Hamburger of Bloomfield Hills. Billy is a seventh- grader at West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. He leads weekly Shabbat services for seniors at Evergreen Health and Living Center in Southfield, where he also conduct- ed Rosh Hashanah services and recently led the Passover seder. Paul Zeltzer will become a bar mitz- vah Saturday, May 15, at Temple Kol Arni. He is the son of Elliot and Susan Zeltzer, brother of Stuart and Barry and the grandson of George M. and Pearl Zeltzer, Bernie Cohen and the late Gig Cohen. Paul is an honor student in seventh grade at Dunckel Middle School in Farmington Hills. He has participated in the mitzvah projects of the Temple Kol Ami Social Action Committee for years.
