The Lifelong Learning program of
the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit's Alliance for
Jewish Education will offer a spring-
into-summer Hebrew program for
students on all levels.
Classes will begin the week of
Sunday, May 9. Four- and six-week
classes from post-beginner's conversa-
tional Hebrew to advanced language
and literature classes are being
offered.
The classes will be taught by Nira
Lev, Hebrew language specialist at the
AJE, and will be held at the Max M.
Fisher Federation Building. The cost
includes all materials.

teers from around the world at elder-
care facilities and- hospitals, Israeli
Defense Forces warehouses and serv-
ice bases.
Volunteers typically stay for two to
three weeks; the program provides
accommodations and meals.

Todd M. Endelman will speak at the
Dr. Leon and Hilda Lucas Lecture
7:30 p.m. Monday, May 3, at the
Jewish Community Center in Oak
Park.
Dr. Endelman's topic will be "Does
Israel Have a Post-Zionist Future?"
Dr. Endelman is the William
Haber Professor of Modern Jewish
History at the University of Michigan
and the director of the Frankel
Center for Judaic Studies at the uni-
versity.
The Cultural Commission of
Congregation Beth Shalom will co-
sponsor the lecture. A dessert recep-
