mitzvah on Friday,
April 30, at Temple
Emanu-El. She is
the daughter of
Laurie and Michael
Gonte and sister of
Robyn. Her grand-
parents are Sheldon
Brown, Judy Brown and the late
Marilyn Price Gonte. Her great-grand-
parents are the late George and Frances
Brown, Max Thomas and Sarah
Thomas.
Mallory is an honor student at
Warner Middle School in Farmington
Hills. Her mitzvah projects included
working Super Sunday for the Jewish
Federation, doing art projects with chil-
dren and working at the American
House, playing games with the elderly
on Christmas Day.

Jena Samantha Gooel, daughter of Lisa
and Bruce Gooel, will celebrate her bat
mitzvah at Temple Israel Friday, April
30. She is the sister of Lauren,
Stephanie and Michelle. He proud
grandparents are Jo
and Edward Simon
and Elaine Kaufman.
She is also the
grandchild of the
late Richard Gooel
and the great-grand-
child of the late
Alma and Bert-
Gooel.
An honor student at Orchard Lake
Middle School in West Bloomfield,
Jenna assisted at several JARC functions
and plans to continue helping there
after her bat mitzvah. She also helped
make dolls for children at Hadassah
House in West Bloomfield.

Robert Samuel Herman, son of Brenda
and Dr. James Herman, will celebrate
his bar mitzvah at
Temple Israel
Saturday, May 1. He
is the brother of
Alexis and Joey. His
proud grandparents
are Anne and
William Colman
and Arlene and
Morton Herman.
Robert is a student at Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. As part of his mitz-
vah projects, he spent time at a JARC
home and he collected cans and donat-
ed the funds to Yad Ezra in Berkley.
