Feb. 20
Kari (Grosinger) and Eddie Alterman of
Franklin are thrilled to announce the
birth of their daughter, Adina Miriam
(Adina Malka). She is welcomed home
by big sister Noa Isabel. Excited grand-
parents are Roberta and Emery
Grosinger of Bloomfield Hills and
Sharon and Mickey Alterman of
Franklin. Ecstatic great-grandmother is
Rose Kurzman of West Bloomfield.
Adina is also the great-granddaughter of
the late George Kirstein. Adina is named
in loving memory of beloved family
friend Magda Rimai (Malka).

Irnai Mitzvah

Jordan Benghiat will become a bar mitz-
vah Saturday, May 1, at Temple Emanu-
El. He is the son of Marcy and Michael
Benghiat, big broth-
er of Bradley and
grandson of Marilyn
and Don Cohen
and Franklin and
Lois Greenberg.
Jordan is in sev-
enth grade at
Berkshire Middle
School in Beverly
Hills. For his pri-
mary mitzvah project, he is making
beautiful lap quilts for residents of
Menorah House with the assistance of
his grandmother Marilyn Kaczander-
Cohen.

child of the late Dr. Arthur Eckhous and
the late David Schurgin.
Andrew is an honor student at
Cranbrook Kingswood Middle School
in Bloomfield Hills. He felt it was very
meaningful to volunteer at Yad Ezra in
Berkley as part of his mitzvah projects.

All Nicole Firsten will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah Saturday, May 1,
at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek
Southfield. She is
the daughter of
Cindy and Robert
Firsten and sister of
Michael. Proud
grandparents are
Beverly and Arnold
Weiss, Rita and
Saul Firsten. She is
also the granddaughter of the late Adele
Firsten.
Ali is a student at Bloomfield Hills .
Middle School. For her mitzvah proj-
ects, she attended bingo night at the
Danto Family Health Care Center in
West Bloomfield. She also helped at
Shaarey Zedek's Beth Hayerled day camp.
In memory of her cousin Matthew
Colman, Ali participates annually in the
cystic fibrosis Great Strides Walk.

Shaun is a student at Walled Lake
Middle School. He felt it was especially
meaningful, as part of his mitzvah proj-
ects, to help at the Holocaust Memorial
Center and he also volunteered at
Temple Israel's library.
