1/2 cup dried cranberries
Preheat oven to 425E Line a baking
sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
Combine the flour, sugar, and bak-
ing powder in the bowl of a food
processor and pulse 3 or 4 times. Add
butter and pulse a few more times.
Add the eggs and half-and-half and
pulse until incorporated.
Transfer the batter to a well-floured
surface and knead in the white choco-
late and the cranberries. Form the bat-
ter into a flat, round disc about 3/4-
inch high and use a round cookie or
biscuit cutter to cut the scones.
Place the scones on the prepared
baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes
(alternately, you may make the scones
to this point, and cover with plastic
wrap, up to a day ahead of time. To
bake, allow the scones to come to
room temperature before baking as
above).
The number of scones depends on
the size of the cookie cutter (makes
about 12 3-inch scones). II

Marx AZA chose the Old Redford neighborhood for its March 27 community service
project. Chapter members and prospective members helped to clean, sweep, move
furniture and paint a building next to the Redford Theatre. The building is being
transformed into an art studio, gallery, cyber cafe and coffee shop. The project was
organized by Motor City Blight Busters.
Standing are Robert Alter, Andrew Appel, Tobias Levitan, Matthew Kideckel, Jay
Pliskoiv, Casey Horton, Carl Levine, Josh Weberman, Joseh Diem, and Justin
Epstein. Kneeling are Seth Levine and A. J Dembs. In front are Motor City Blight
Busters Executive Director John George, middle, with two volunteers.
