ext Monday evening Passover begins, and on this holiday
our table settings are special. I always use the same Seder
plate my mother-in-law gave us when we were newly-
weds. I just purchased a stained-glass Seder plate at
Temple Israel for my niece, who will be married in May. It is a work of art,
and I hope it becomes part of her family tradition.

Passover is also called
the holiday of spring —
Hag ha-Aviv. What better
way to celebrate spring
than with a spectacular
garden. Take a peek at
Debbie Spizizen's
Franklin garden. Not
only are the flowers
fabulous, but also
there is a waterfall
cascading into a pond
filled with koi and water lilies. There's a
lot blooming at the Spizizen household this season as the
family just welcomed a new baby. Congratulations!
After Passover, it's time to dine out. Try the Ann Arbor intimate bistro
— Eve. Chef Eve Aronoff offers an eclectic menu mixing North African,
West African, Cuban and Vietnamese cuisines.
