much as possible in singing, telling what
they know," she says. "Another visual
aid could be a poster with the parts of
the seder listed, picture style," with
Velcro items applied each time it comes
to the corresponding part in the seder,
and a special treat given out at each
`milestone.'"
Once little ones have "saturated their
attention span, they could be excused to
play a Pesach or Jewish-object match
game," Mrs. Bergstein adds. "Or you
could make a variation of the Twister
game, calling out Pesach objects to land
on.''

• Hey, Good Looking. I Like Your
Cooking:
There's a terrific new cookbook out
called Matzah Meals: A Passover
Cookbook for Kids by Judy Tabs and
Barbara Steinberg, published by Kar-
Ben. It's filled with child-friendly recipes
that children as young as 10, and as old
as 18, will have fun making — every-
thing from Passover Sandwich Rolls to a
Baby Moses Salad. (The illustrations are
great, too.) Give your son or daughter a
copy of this cookbook and invite him-
her to make some foods for the seder
table.
• Challenge Your Children To Make
A Plague:
Children of all ages can participate.
Just ask them to create something —
from a mobile to a drawing — repre-
senting one of the 10 Plagues. These
look great on the seder table, and chil-
dren will love talking about how they ---
made their plagues.
• A-Mazing:
The Internet is filled with Web sites
where you can create your own maze.
Prepare in advance for the seder, with
appropriate themes ("Help the Jews
Find Their Way Through the Desert"),
and children can trace their fingers
along the path. Or, if you have even a
modicum of artistic talent, make your
own search-and-find with a Pesach
theme.
• Family Ties:
Ask family members to write about
how they celebrated, or will be cele-
brating, Pesach. Read these accounts
at the seder table.
• Find the Frogs
Make your own drawing of a frog,
or piece of matzah (or photocopy)
and make numerous copies. Hide
these around the house for children to
find when they get restless.
