The Festival fast-forwards to the USA, the South
and—what else—the Jews there. Enjoy Brian
Bain's delightful, personal piece.

Co-Sponsored by Bluma and Robert
Schechter & Sophie Pearlstein

Filmmaker Brian Bain takes a 4200-mile
Southern road trip that turns into a rite of
passage. Through his humorous and affec-
tionate encounters with Jewish Southerners
of all types, he examines the character of
Southern Jews and how they are blending
the Old World with the New South. And
there's a fabulous, romantic surprise at the
end of this true delight of a movie.

Special guest producer/director Brian Bain
joins us to talk after the film.

A pointed, magical, pixyish morality
tale that's funny. L'chaim!

ENCORE PERFORMANCE!

Co-Sponsored by
Leslee & David Magidson

A frustrated businessman, Jeffery Goldman
(John Pankow, Mad About You) tries to end
his hopeless marriage by asking the local
rabbi (Eli Wallach) to place a curse on his
wife, Ellen (Rebecca Pidgeon, Heist). The
rabbi refuses, but gives peculiar advice on
how to do away with her, setting off a series
of unexpected events. This delight tells us
something unique about Jewish wisdom. It
was a great opener, and now you can see
it again!
