Spring Means Fitness

Families will join Jewish Community
Center Family Fitness Club staff and
an educator from the National
Wildlife Federation at 2 p.m. Sunday,
April 4, to search for signs of spring
by the pond and for easy calisthenics.
All children who participate will
receive a fanny pack and Ranger Rick
magazine. Families should meet at the
Dubin Recreation Track at the JCC in
West Bloomfield.
There is no fee, but registrations
should be made by April 1. Call (248)

JCC Plans Blood Drive

State Rep. Marc Shulman, R-West
Bloomfield, and Mark Brewer, execu-
tive chair of the Michigan Democratic
Party, will speak at the Birmingham
Temple at 8 p.m. Monday, March 29,
on "Critical Issues of the 2004
Election: Religion and Government,
the State of Israel and the War on
Terror." This forum is open to the
public at no charge.
Shulman served as a West
Bloomfield Township trustee before
being elected to the State House in
1998, where he is the.chair of the
House Appropriations Committee.
Brewer is a leading figure in advocat-
ing for Democratic positions in the
public arena.

The Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit's Blood Donor
Bowl will be Monday, March 29.
The JCC and the Jewish Academy
of Metropolitan Detroit, both at
Maple and Drake, West Bloomfield,
will host an American Red Cross
blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Donors will have the opportunity to
'dedicate each donation to the school
of their choice. At the end of the day,
the names will be tallied and the
school with the most generous alumni,
current students and fans will be
announced.
.All participants will receive a
coupon from Olga's Kitchen for a free
sandwich and a collectable donor pin.
There are four donor pins from the
American Red Cross, collectable
throughout the next year.
