JFS Receives TRUST Funds

Jewish Family Service has received
grants of $15,000 from the Living Free
Foundation and $10,000 from the
Cohen Family Fund of the Community
Foundation for Southeastern Michigan
to continue Project TRUST
Project TRUST — Teaching and
Reaching Using Students and Theater
— utilizes high school theater students
to perform educational, prevention
plays for the elementary, middle and
high schools.
The current peer educatiori site is
Bloomfield Hills Lahser High School,
where two casts of six students each will
tour two plays through May. Peace Up!
for grades 3-5 focuses on ways to chan-
nel anger constructively and prevent
violence, harassment and abuse.
What Goes Around for grades six and
up addresses social attitudes about vio-
lence, gender and sexual orientation.
Lahser students will perform What
Goes Around at the Minneapolis
Convention Center this weekend for a -
national delegation from Boys and Girls
Clubs of America.
