Bar/Bat Mitzvahs

Rachel Barth will celebrate her bat
mitzvah on
Saturday, March
13, 2004 at
Congregation Beth
Shalom. She is the
daughter of Ellen
and Daniel Barth
and the sister of
Jonathan and
Adam. Her grand-
parents are Ann Barth of Southfield
and the late Earl Barth and Eva and
Sam Taylor.
Rachel is an honor student at Norup
Middle School in Oak Park. For her
mitzvah project, she visited seniors at

American House with her Hebrew
school class. She also collected funds
and participated in the Leukemia and
Lymphoma Society's Light the Night
Walk for the last four years in honor
of a friend. Rachel is also collecting
new teddy bears for Good Bears of the
World; the bears will be given to the
radiology department at Children's
Hospital of Michigan in Detroit.

as a bat mitzvah at

13. She is the
daughter of Suzi
and Larry Dell and
the sister of Benji

Ilana is also the granddaughter of the
late Sacha Dell.
Ilana is a double honor student at
Hillel Day School of Metroplitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills. Her
mitzvah projects include volunteering
for Friendship Circle and working
with seniors at Fleischman Residence
in West Bloomfield. She especially
enjoyed working with the children at
Beth Hayeled day camp last summer.

as a bar mitzvah on

Southfield. He is
the son of Paula
and Danny Lipnik

and Jacob. His

Lipnik, Brenda and Barney Dales and
Morton Pascoe of Toronto.
Alex is an honor student at Warner
Middle School in Farmington Hills.
For his mitzvah projects, he played
bingo several times at Danto Family
Health Care Center in West
Bloomfield and helped at Shaarey
Zedek's Purim carnival. His most
meaningful project was spending six
hours volunteering at Yad Ezra in
Berkley, where he earned a special can-
dle.

Abby Shaye Maroko will celebrate her
bat mitzvah as she
reads from the
Torah on Friday,
March 12, at
Temple Israel. She
is the daughter of
Beth and Eli
Maroko and sister
of Jordan and Alex.
Her excited grand-
parents are Judith
and Martin Herman and Ruth
Maroko. She is also the grandchild of
the late Simon Maroko.
Abby attends Orchard Lake Middle
School in West Bloomfield. Her most
meaningful mitzvah project was
donating funds to the Jewish Braille
Institute of America. She also volun-
teered at the Fleischman Residence in
West Bloomfield, playing bingo with
the seniors.
