Jewish teens in grades nine through 12
are invited to B'nai Kith Youth
Organization's Jewish Heritage Night
Sunday, Feb. 29, from 6:45 to 8:30
p.m. at Keter Torah Synagogue.
The free program, titled "Connect
the Dots to Sephardic Judaism," will be
an interactive exploration of Sephardic
Jews with Rabbi Michael Cohen.
All Jewish high school students are
welcome. The program is underwritten
through a contribution from Noah
Wofsy, an AZA alumnus of Strauss
BBYO in Mt. Clemens who now lives
in Washington.

Rebitzen Chaya Sarah Silberberg will
lead a three-part cooking series,
"Shabbat Delicacies: Quick and Elegant
Recipes for Your Shabbat Table," at Sara
Tugman Bais Chabad Torah Center,
5595 W. Maple. "Fishy Business" will
be Feb. 23; "Killer Kugels" will be
March 1; "Grand Finales" will be
March 8.
All programs will begin at 8 p.m.
Class participants will be able to sample
all recipes. Cost is $18 per session; $50

Substance Abuse
The Friendship Circle Counseling
Division offers support and friendship
to individuals recovering from substance
abuse, assisting them to reintegrate in a
healthy and fulfilling manner.
At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the
Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield, the Friendship Circle
Counseling Division, with local Jewish
day schools, will host a lecture by Rabbi
Abraham J. Twerski: "Kids at Risk:
What Your Teens Know and You
Don't." A separate lecture for health
professionals will be the same day.
Rabbi Twerski, founder/medical
director emeritus of Gateway
Rehabilitation Center., is associate pro-
fessor of psychiatry at the University of
Pittsburgh School of Medicine
