Levin Executive Director President 808600 WE REMEMBER JERRY BIELFIELD Of Blessed Memory March 16, 1912 - February 18, 2001 Third Yahrtzeit 25th of Shevat Tuesday, February 17, 2004 Jerry Bielfield was the founding father of the Jewish hospice movement in our community. In 1991, Mr. Bielfield and his wife Eileen created the first fund for Jewish hospice care established at United Jewish Charities. For ten years prior to his passing, he served as a hospice patient advo- cate and volunteer, well before our community-wide volunteer program was created. In 1999, Mr. Bielfield was one of the visionaries that created the Jewish Hospice & Chaplaincy Network. The directors, staff, administration, and Rabbis of the JHCN remember our beloved Jerry upon his third Yahrtzeit. In his honor, we rededicate ourselves to compassionate care of the terminally ill and their families. Jerry was a leader who taught us how to care. May his memory be for a blessing.
