SENIOR LIVING ZOA Announces Scholarship Grants Scholarship grants to students planning to go on educational programs for a year to Israel will be offered by the Zionist Organization of America Scholarship Committee, co-chaired by Beverly Baker and Tobi Schlussel. Applicants are required to submit an essay on "What Israel and Zionism Mean to me and a recommendation letter from a teacher or rabbi. JAMD Awarded Bookshelf Grant The Jewish Academy of Metropolitan Detroit has been selected by the AVI CHAI Foundation to receive one of the Foundation's Bookshelf. Grants. JAMD will receive $5,000 a year for three years to purchase books, audiovi- sual items, computer hardware and soft- ware for its media center. The school is one of 99 high schools participating in the 2003/2004 program. Since the program's inception in 1999, AVI CHAI Bookshelf Grants have been made to 155 high schools nationwide and in Canada.
