Zionist Sheik To Speak Here Sheik Abdul Hadi Palazzi, a professor who calls himself a Muslim Zionist, will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Adat Shalom Synagogue. The program, "Islam, Democracy & Zionism: A Journey Toward Understanding," will include topics such as "The Jewish-Muslim Dialogue and the Question of Jerusalem," "Islam and Democracy" and "Suicide Bombers: Martyrs or Apostates?" Sheik Palazzi, who lives in Italy, is a scholar and an ordained Islamic religious leader. He is resident professor of Middle East studies at the Research Institute for Anthropological Sciences in Rome and a lecturer on the history of religion as well as a commentator on the Middle East for Italy's public television organization. He has published papers and addressed conferences on topics of peace in the Middle East and relations between Muslims and Israel. He denounces Muslim political extremists, the PLO, Arafat and the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades for perverting authen- tic, traditional Islam.
