You want interest bearing checking and more? Capitol Hill Rabbi At Glazer Institute Rabbi David Saperstein will be scholar in residence for Temple Beth El's 62nd annual Rabbi B. Benedict and Ada S. Glazer Institute on Judaism for the Christian, Eastern Orthodox, Muslim and Protestant Clergy. The Institute, Friday, Feb. 13, is attended annually by more than 300 area clergy. Rabbi Saperstein is director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism in Washington. He represents the Reform Jewish movement to Congress and the administration. During his 30-year tenure, he has head- ed several religious coalitions. Also an attorney, Rabbi Saperstein teaches seminars in First Amendment church-state law and in Jewish law at Georgetown University Law School. His topics at the Glazer Institute, which are open to the public, will be "Being the Hands of God: Jewish Social Justice at a Time Saperstein of Crisis and Opportunity" at 9:30 a.m. and "Economic Justice: Testing the Morality of Our Nation" at 10:45 a.m. Rabbi Saperstein will also speak at 7:30 p.m. Shabbat services on "The Jewish Stake in the 108th Congress: The Domestic Agenda." His topic at 10:30 a.m. Shabbat services Feb. 14 will be "The Foreign Policy Agenda." Chairs of this year's Glazer Institute are Peter and Shelly Cooper and Sheldon and Dr. Roberta Toll. The institute is funded by Merton and Beverly Segal and Marvin and Peggy Novick. Reconstructionist Scholar To Speak Rabbi Fred Sherlinder Dobb will be scholar in residence for a week with the four Michigan Reconstructionist congre- gations beginning Feb. 11. Rabbi Dobb is on sabbatical from Adat Shalom Reconstructionist Congregation in Bethesda, Md. He is an environmental educator and the first rabbincal fellow at the Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life. At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, he will discuss "Eco-Judaism: Caring for Creation, in Tradition and Today," at Temple Beth Emeth, Ann Arbor.
