out, I started another project, trying to
develop a book into a movie," Isenberg
says. "While I was working on that, I
ended up writing the adult movies."
Other initiatives pursued by Isenberg
include arranging literary retreats,
working the Internet to scout enter-
tainment acquisitions for a multimedia
search engine and conducting screen
skills workshops, which she brought
back to Michigan. She also has been
executive producer of L:Design, a series
for the Fine Living Network through
her company, Focus Media.
"I always wanted to write novels, but
I went off to Hollywood and veered
into another track," says Isenberg, who
is single. "I've come back to my origi-
nal goal and achieved it on the first
time out. The first publisher to read
the manuscript offered me a two-book
contract, and I'm already writing the
second, Playing the Results.
"I'm just so elated that it all came
together in a very easy way. In
Hollywood, you usually have to fight to
make things happen, and this is some-
thing I didn't have to fight for at all.
"I felt that this story would be
entertaining and insightful, and I just
sat down and did it. I had developed
the plot as an idea for television, and
the rest poured out of me."
