high ceilings, arched entry and
banks of French doors, frame a
cozy fireside seating area and
an opulently set round table for
festive family dinners. Original

Gallardo of Commerce

Rafael's angels, brought back
from a trip to Rome, hangs

ed seven-car garage to accommo-
date his prized collection, and his
library, complete with custom
cherry wood cabinets and flooring.
John also designed four of the five
fireplaces and chose hand-painted
wallpapers to mimic European
designs of the 18th and 19th cen-
turies. Additionally, he oversaw the
7,000 linear feet of hand-carved

crown mouldings, and designed
the ornate staircase balusters.
Sharon calls John a true
Renaissance man. "He even
obtained a nursery license, hired a
crew and did all of the landscaping
in three weeks," she says.
Inside and out, Villa Cini
reflects the tastes and lifestyle of
its owners. "It's our dream home,"
says Sharon.

Villa Cini will be featured on the Groves High School Heart of the
Home Tour, 12-4 p.m., Feb. 8. The tour includes homes in Franklin,
Beverly Hills and West Bloomfield. Tickets are available for $20 at
Groves High School, Twelve Mile and Evergreen roads, and the
Apple Tree Room in Franklin. Call 626-2231 for information.
