School in Ann Arbor, spent a lot of his
energy on big bouncers like the Tyrone
T-Rex Maze Adventure.
But he liked best the cascade of color-
ful balloons that heralded the secular
New Year as the seconds leading up to
"midnight" were counted down to the
beat of music from a Living Energy disc
jockey.
'All the people came and danced and
celebrated," he said.
He and his little brother also liked the
drums and noisemakers. "This is the day
they're allowed to make noise and it's
OK," their dad said. "So the parents have
to just sit there and enjoy it, too."
Matt's wife, Amy, was a party co-chair
with Debbie Frommer. Teacher co-chairs
were Jodi Kanagur and Amy Scapelliti.
They worked with Kari Provizer, director
of the Robert Sosnick Family Life Center
at Temple Israel.
Putting it all into perspective,
Frommer said: "The adults got a chance
to spend New Year's in a fun, alcohol-free
atmosphere with their family. They didn't
have to leave their children at home." ❑
