arolyn Hanaway and Dr. Lee
Benjamin were recently mar-
ried at the Detroit Athletic
Club. Rabbi Marla Hornsten of
Temple Israel officiated. Carolyn is
the daughter of John and Rosemary
Hanaway of Orchard Lake. Lee is the
son of Sanford and Lois Benjamin of
Charlotte, N.C.
Carolyn's father accompanied her to
the chuppah. The bride's brother John
and the groom's longtime friend
Michael T. Lamont singed the
ketubah. The couple were thrilled to
include friends and family in the cere-
mony. Harry and Molly Benjamin,
grandparents of the groom, were also
in attendance.
Lee and Carolyn honeymooned in
Belize and reside in North Carolina.

n Nov. 30, five generations
gathered at Fleischman
Residence in West Bloomfield
to celebrate the eldest family member,
Fannie Whiteman, who recently
turned 100. She was surrounded by
her two daughters, five grandchildren,
12 great-grandchildren, one great-
great-grandson and 40 other family
members and friends. Mrs. Whiteman
has lived at Fleischman longer than .
any other resident. She sat next to her
sister during the party and clapped
when everyone sang happy birthday.
