Book And A Buck

PHOTOS BY JOSH KRISTAL

A

t the Temple Israel Early
Childhood Center
Chanukah party, families
were encouraged to pur-
chase children's books to ship to poor
neighborhoods in Israel. Along with
each book, they tossed a dollar bill
into a can to pay for postage.
Many families bought books for
their home collections, as well.
The event also included an appear-
ance by author Leslea Newman, who
read from her book The Runaway
Dreidel.
