Q : My father was just entered into home hospice.
I understand yours is not_a 9:00-5:00 business but,
if he dies in the middle of the night, whom do we
call first?

The calls that need to be made are to your
hospice nurse who will come to formally pronounce
his death. The police will come out to inform the
Medical Examiner that he can be released to us.
You can contact us 24 hours a day. Unlike other
facilities, we do not employ an answering service,
so you will talk to one of our staff_ immediately
upon making the call. If you contact us first,
we will assist in the coordination of his release.
