Jan Barger Cohen is wonderful. This is
a lovely family, friendly and gentle, just
the kind of people you want to get to
know, even if only in a book. Her illustra-

The Nov. 21 issue of AppleTree
incorrectly translated the Hebrew
word hodu as turkey and Turkey.
It is indeed the food we eat, but •
hodu in Hebrew is India, not the
country of Turkey.

It was hats off to the Cat in the Hat last week as students at Yeshivat Akiva in
Southfield held a celebration in honor of Dr. Seuss.
The celebration included a design-your-own hat contest (the first-place winner
received two tickets to the new film), a puppet show and a visit from the Cat in
the Hat himself (who, in his other life serves as Akiva's physical education direc-
tor, Bill Andrade).
The program was planned and coordinated by Akiva librarian Phyllis Rochen,
and everyone who attended agreed that the program was, well, the cat's pajamas.
