Asa Frank Smith was called to the
Torah as a bar mitz-
vah at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek West
Bloomfield, B'nai
Israel Center on
Saturday, Nov. 22.
He is the son of
Barbara and Levi
Smith and grandson
of Estelle and Eli
Brown, Bette and
Robert C. Smith: His siblings are Noah
and Chelsie.
Asa is a student at Bloomfield Hills
Middle School. His favorite mitzvah
project was distributing Passover food
through Moies Chetim at Yad Ezra in
Berkley.

Jessica Danielle Zausmer read from the
Torah on her bat mitzvah Friday, Nov.
21, at Temple Israel. She is the daugh-
ter of Laura and Mark Zausmer and
sister of Nicole and Mike. Her excited
grandparents are Martha and Larry
Paul and Gail and
Jack Krueger. She is
also the grandchild
of the late Norman
Alan Zausmer.
Jessica attends
Abbott Middle
School in West
Bloomfield. Her
most meaningful
mitzvah project
involved moving, during her spring
break, to the home of a bedridden
adult and assisting with chores and
childcare.

Jessica Esther Zilberberg, daughter
of Elina and Vadim Zilberberg, will
be called to the Torah as a bat mitz-
vah on Friday, Nov. 28, at Temple
Shir Shalom. Dr. Eugeniya and
Leonid Khanukov,
Anna Seletskaya
and Lev Zilberberg
are the proud
grandparents.
Jessica's great-
grandmother is
Liliya Sharova. She
is the sister of
Gabriella.
Jessica is an honor student at
Walnut Creek Middle School in
Walled Lake. Her most meaningful
mitzvah project was volunteering
with preschoolers at Sunday school
and in art camp over the summer.
The centerpieces from the party will
be donated to Children's Hospital of
Michigan in Detroit.
