Mr. Jacob is survived by his wife, Pat Jacob; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and David VanArtsdalen; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Linda Jacob of Franklin; grandchil- dren, Jennifer and David VanArtsdalen, Sarah, Adam and Noah Jacob; sister-in-law, Reva Jacob. He was the devoted brother of the late Robert Jacob, the late Adele "Dolly" Goldberg, the late Rolla Doner and the late Eleanor Hartman; dear brother-in-law of the late Irving Goldberg and the late Brod Doner. Interment at Beth El Memorial Park. Contributions may be directed to the Orchards Children Services, attended the University of Miami and then entered the Army in 1939, where he rose to the rank of chief warrant officers before returning to civilian life in 1945. In 1946, Mr. Jacob co-founded Cadillac Jacob Plastic and Chemical Co. in Detroit with his brother, Bob. In 1957, the men sold the company, taking stock in what came to be known as Dayco. When this company ran into finan- cial trouble in the 1960s, the broth- ers were picked to run the company. After his brother's death in 1971, Mr. Jacob became CEO and later chairman of Dayco. Mr. Jacob was devoted to numer- ous charitable and civic causes. He was a co-founder of the Hundred Club of Dayton, which helped the widows and orphans of policemen and firemen who lost their lives in public service.
