She is the daughter of Alisa Peskin-Shepherd and Steven Shepherd and sister of Leah. Excited grandparents are Marilyn Peskin- Kaufman and Paul Kaufman and Evelyn Shepherd. She is also the granddaughter of the late Harvey Peskin and the late Benjamin Shepherd. Hope is an honor student at West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. For her mitzvah project, she held a garage sale, rais- ing money for the-Michigan Humane Society. Bradley Aaron Schlafer will be called o the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek Southfield. Participating in the serv- ice will be his proud parents, Julie and Steven Schlafer, and brother Scott. Bradley is delight- ed to have his grandparents Henrietta and Alvin Weisberg share in the sim- chah. He is also the loving grand- son of the late Ellen Schlafer. Bradley is an honor student at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. He has helped to raise money for Alyn Hospital in Jerusalem,. He also fed the homeless and volunteered at St. Leo's Soup Kitchen in Detroit, and participated in the JARC and Dor L'Dor programs through Hillel. Benjamin Spencer Siegel, son of Sheila and Jeffrey Siegel, will become a bar mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Birmingham Temple. He is the brother of Samantha. His proud grandparents are Skip and Bev Siegel and Lorraine Silber. He is also the grandson of the late Leonard Silber. Benjamin is a student at Derby Middle School in Birmingham. His most meaningful mitzvah project involved preparing and serving a meal for the homeless at the Baldwin Church in Pontiac. Adam Jacob Solomon will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Temple Beth El. He is the son of Rochelle and Barry Solomon. Proud grandpar- ents are Frances Solomon, Sally and Michael Sommerfeld. He is also the grandson of the late Isadore Solomon. Adam is a sev- enth-grade honor student at Derby Middle School in Birmingham. His mitzvah projects include volunteering at the Purim Parcel Project and the summer read- ing program at the Birmingham Public Library. Marissa Jenna Wolf, daughter of Michelle Wolf and Bryan Wolf, will celebrate her bat mitzvah at Havdalah, services Saturday, Nov. 22, at Temple Israel. She is the sister of Breanna, Zachary and Brandon. Her grandfather is David Brevoort. She is also the grandchild of the late Elaine and Sy Wolf and the late Mollie Rosa Brevoort. Marissa attends Clifford Smart Middle School in Commerce Township, where she is an honor student. As part of her mitzvah project, she served lunch to the needy families when Temple Israel housed the homeless.
