Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills and a
member of Adat Shalom Synagogue.
His mitzvah projects have included
Jewish Family Service's Fall Fix-Up,
meals on wheels and the coordinat-
ed Hillel-JARC program.

Joshua Ryan Freed, son of Laini

and Larry Freed, will celebrate his
bar mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 22,
at Temple Israel. He is the brother
of Danny and Jake. His grandpar-
ents are Bonnie and Jim Weitzman
and Lenore andloe Silver. He is also
the grandson of the late Jack Freed.
His proud great-grandfather is Clem
Weitzman.
Josh attends West Hills Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills, where
he is an eighth
grade honor stu-
dent. Helping at
Yad Ezra in
Berkley was the
mitzvah project he
felt was the most
meaningful. For
several years, he
has made dona-
tions to the Israel
Defense Forces.

Hannah Maud Kanter, daughter of
Cindy Frenkel and Daniel Kanter,
celebrated her bat mitzvah Saturday,
Nov. 15, at Congregation Shir
Tikvah. She is the granddaughter of
Marvin Frenkel and Austin Kanter.
She is also the grandchild of the late
Barbara Frenkel and the late Harriet
Kanter.
Hannah attends
Roeper School in
Birmingham. Her
mitzvah projects
included helping
the homeless,
when Shir Tikvah
hosted them for a
week last summer
through SOS, and
organizing the donation of new toys
to be given out in the pediatric
emergency room at Beaumont
Hospital in Royal Oak.

called to the Torah as a bat mitztth
on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Temple Kol

Max. Her proud
grandparents are

Kendler. She is the great-grand-
daughter of Max Goldstein.
An honor student at Dunckel
Middle School in Farmington Hills,
she volunteered her time at Yad Ezra
in Berkley. She has also very much
enjoyed being a madrich (aide) at
Temple Kol Ami religious school
both last year and currently.

Adam Marcus Koppy will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 22, at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek Southfield. He is the
wonderful son of Elissa and David
Koppy and adored big brother of
Falynn. His proud grandparents are
Joan and Bernard Brawer and Anne
and Allen Marcus.
He is also the
grandson of the
late Arthur Koppy.
Adam is a stu-
dent at the Roeper
School in
Birmingham. He
has participated in
several mitzvah
projects including
volunteering at Yad Ezra in Berkley
and at Shaarey Zedek's Beth
Hayeled camp during the summer,
donating to the American Cancer
Foundation and to a variety of chil-
dren's activities.

Jason Scott Kovacs, together with his
parents, Randee and Jeffrey Kovacs,
will celebrate his bar mitzvah at
Temple Israel Friday, Nov. 21. His sis-
ters are Lauren and Kimmy and his
proud grandmother is Estelle Hyman.
He is also the grandchild of the late
Louis Hyman and the late Florence
and James Kovacs.
