Hannah Maud Kanter, daughter of Cindy Frenkel and Daniel Kanter, celebrated her bat mitzvah Saturday, Nov. 15, at Congregation Shir Tikvah. She is the granddaughter of Marvin Frenkel and Austin Kanter. She is also the grandchild of the late Barbara Frenkel and the late Harriet Kanter. Hannah attends Roeper School in Birmingham. Her mitzvah projects included helping the homeless, when Shir Tikvah hosted them for a week last summer through SOS, and organizing the donation of new toys to be given out in the pediatric emergency room at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Courtney Michala Kendler will be called to the Torah as a bat mitztth on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Temple Kol Ami. She is the daughter of Debra and Steven Kendler and sister of Ginette and Max. Her proud grandparents are Audrey and Harold Leider, Rita Wais and Earl Kendler. She is the great-grand- daughter of Max Goldstein. An honor student at Dunckel Middle School in Farmington Hills, she volunteered her time at Yad Ezra in Berkley. Adam Marcus Koppy will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek Southfield. He is the wonderful son of Elissa and David Koppy and adored big brother of Falynn. His proud grandparents are Joan and Bernard Brawer and Anne and Allen Marcus. He is also the grandson of the late Arthur Koppy. Adam is a stu- dent at the Roeper School in Birmingham. He has participated in several mitzvah projects including volunteering at Yad Ezra in Berkley and at Shaarey Zedek's Beth Hayeled camp during the summer, donating to the American Cancer Foundation and to a variety of chil- dren's activities.
