Completing her four-year term as founding chair of the Foundation is Margot Halperin. The following trustees begin two-year terms as officers: chair, Beverly Liss; associate chair, Elyse Foltyn; treasurer, Patti Baum; secretary, Sandy Schwartz; and representative to the combined boards of the United Jewish Foundation and Federation, Gail Mayer. Geneva Williams, chief executive offi- cer of CityConnect Detroit, was the keynote speaker. At the board meeting, trustees per- sonally awarded more than $50,000 to the following eight programs in the Detroit area and Israel: $8,500 to JCare Women's Health, $7,500 to Healing Waters, $7,000 to Opening Windows for Widows, $6,800 to Single Mother Family Camp, $5,200 to Sarah's Tent, $5,000 to Jewish Ensemble Theatre, $5,000 to Women in Pastoral Care and $5,000 to Mavoi Saturn (Israel). The 2003 Grant Cycle marks the third time the JWF has allocated dollars to pro- grains and projects that benefit Jewish women and girls.
