How To Reach Us Keri Gut n Cohen Story -•, Development Editor Friday, Nov. 14, 2003 Cheshvan 19, 5764 Vol. CXXIV, No. 14 Cover: Photography, Angie Baan Page design, Deborah Schultz : t the Conservative movement biennial conference in Dallas last month, attention was focused on the 10 percent drop in member- ship that showed up in the recent National Jewish Population Study compared with the study in 1990. Rather than panic, conference partici- pants decided to be proactive and concen- trate on solutions instead. Building on the movement's position in the middle of the three major streams of Judaism, they iden- tified education, youth programming, out- reach and promoting adherence to Jewish law as important strengths to build upon. Our story looks at the Conservative movement locally and nationally and where it's heading. www.detroitjewishnews.com 29200 Northwestern Highway, #110, Southfield, MI 48034.
