It's a great specialty item at the
Hong Hua gourmet Chinese dining
spot on Orchard Lake Road, north
of 12 Mile, in Farmington Hills ...
where grouper, with its snow white
and firm consistency, is prepared five
different ways ... all real treats.
When grouper is cooked properly ...
as it is at Hong Hua ... very few fish
can beat its delicate taste ... For that
matter, there aren't too many Chinese
places in the Midwest that can com-
pare with Hong Hua.
THE BIGGEST LOBSTER served
at the Palm restaurant in Troy was 12-
pounds ... But it pales to the size
served by General Manager Curt
Schaber while a waiter at the Palm in
Tyson Corner, Va. ... a 16-pounder ...
eaten by one gent.
What has this got to do with saving
babies? ... Absolutely nothing ...
Except that a 16-pound baby would
also be looked upon as being quite big
... Even the 12-pounder too, prepared
by Executive Chef Troy Houser at the
local Palm in Troy.
Houser will be one of the eight local
chefs who'll be part of Star Chefs pre-
sented by Sysco Detroit, 6 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 17, at the Marriott at
Centerpoint Hotel in Pontiac.
Proceeds will support March of
Dimes' baby-saving programs of
research, etc.
$100 tickets take in food sampling,
auction bidding, etc. ... For more info,
call Lesley Nadeau at March of Dimes,

By the way, the new cookbook out
by the Palm should be a big favorite
for many housewives especially with
one of the sections devoted to "Dishes
Made With Leftovers."
The Palm is noted for numerous
oversized portions from which a lot of
folks take home a "people snack" or
two ... and now can love even more a
second meal made from the leftovers
that they enjoyed so much.
The book is available at most area
bookstores, on www.runningpress.com
or www.thepaIrn.com ... and at the
restaurant.

Bloomfield's new site is Novi Road and
14 Mile, in the Maple Place Center.
Seating will be only for about 70 in
one room ... But when Gene originally
opened in Oak Park in 1955, he had
seating for only 55 ... Five years later,
expansion made it 100.

A LOT OF YOUNGSTERS will
