Alfred Taubman Jewish Community Campus in Oak Park to celebrate the groundbreaking of its new David and Miriam Mondry Administrative Office Building. Nearly 125 people attended, including members of the Mondry family. Currently, the JAS executive staff occupies office space in several build- ings on both the Oak Park and West • Bloomfield campuses. The new - 6,700-square-foot facility will enable the accounting, marketing, develop- ment and the administrative staff to work together under one roof. "I have been waiting for years for an opportunity to build our own JAS Administrative Office Building, and the Mondry family made it possible," said Marsha Goldsmith Kamin, JAS executive director. "We can now work together in one Volunteers Learn Chaplain Training The Jewish Community Chaplaincy Program, which pro- vides religious, cultural and spiri- tual support to frail Jewish older adults living in care facilities, will offer a series of volunteer training sessions. The next session will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at location, maximizing efficiencies of - operation and giving back valuable communal space to our residents." Neil Gorosh, JAS board president, said, "This very generous gift makes possible one more anchor for the community, a community that is get- ting stronger year to year and can serve as a model for gentrification of Jewish communities in the United States." Ira Mondry, son of Miriam Mondry of Bloomfield Hills and the late David Mondry, said, "It's gratify- ing to hear the people who work for this organization speak so excitedly and glowingly about how much they're looking forward to when this building is completed." The building was designed by Gerorge J. Hartman Architects P.C. and its construction is being per- formed by Farber Equities. They anticipate staff moving into the new building by June. Fleischman Residence in West Bloomfield. The topic will be "Coping With Loss." Speakers will include Judy Kotzen, clinical social worker; Rabbi David Castiglione of Temple Beth El; and Nathan Shiovitz of Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network. The session is free.
