Beckerman learned a bit about patience.
But 58 years is asking a little too much.
Still, that's how long it took for this for-
mer Detroiter now living in Florida to
receive his medal.
As we honor veterans of all wars this
Veterans Day, take a little time to listen to
a story from someone who served in the
military. It might not always be as exciting
as Beckerman's tale of undermining the
Luftwaffe and saving American pilots, but
it's still worth the hearing and its certainly
heart-warming for the teller who served
our country well. Enjoy the memories.
