14th.
The Jewish Academy of Metropolitan
Detroit girls basketball team was tied
for first in the Michigan Athletic League
in mid-October. The Jaguars were 4-2
in league play, 8-5 overall. Senior guard
Fallon Garfield-Turner is the eighth-
leading scorer in Oakland County, aver-
aging 12.8 points per game.
The JAMD golf squad placed 12th
out of 26 teams at the Oakland County
Tournament at Pontiac Municipal Golf
Course Sept. 29. Josh Cohen, Aaron
Newman and Jesse Gross shot 81

The four primarily Jewish country
clubs squared off in the 11th annual
inter-club golf championship Oct. 4,
with Tam O'Shanter edging host
Franklin Hills on the first playoff hole.
Each club had three, two-man teams,
with the lowest score for each team
counting in the 18-hole, medal play
event.
Tam O'Shanter and Franklin both
scored 220 through 18 holes, but Dan
Gordon birdied the initial playoff hole
to give Tam the victory. The other Tam
O'Shanter golfers were: Bruce Ruben,-
Ken Lesson, Steve Friedman, Mike
Rudin and Mitchell Wayne. Franklin's
team included J.J. Modell, Jeff Shapiro,

Schneider joined three-time Norris
Trophy winner Nicklas Lidstrom fol-
lowing Derian Hatcher's knee injury.

playing on Berkley's freshman football
