Participating in the service will be his proud parents, Denise and Fred Kalt. Matthew is honored to have his grandparents Rita Keywell and Joan and Saul Kalt share in the sim- chah. He is also the loving grandson of the late Jerry Keywell. Matthew is an honor student at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. He has volunteered as a counselor aide at Congregation Shaarey Zedek's Camp Betman, helped to collect food for Yad Ezra in Berkley and participated in the Dor L'Dor and JARC programs through Hillel. Jay Joseph Krinsky, son of Deborah Krinsky and Joseph Krinsky, will celebrate his bar mitzvah Saturday, Nov. 1, at Temple Israel. He is the brother of Jeff and Jenna and the grandson of Maxine Krinsky, Barbara Deschamps and special grandfather Leonard Miller. He is also the grandchild of the late Charles Deschamps. Attending Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield, Jay felt his most meaningful mitzvah project was donating money to Leader Dogs for the Blind; he also helped at a community education sports pro- gram after school. Hayley Gail, Shayna Faye and Keith Harrison Mandell, children of Nancy and Marshall Mandell, were called to the Torah on the occasion of their b'nai mitzvah during Havdalah services Saturday, Oct. 25, at Temple Israel. They chose to Shayna Mandell help at the Special Olympics at the Jewish Community Center as part of their mitzvah projects.
