when did you meet?' 'We met at temple
on Shabbos.' So maybe it'll rekindle

will help people find their beshert
(intended) and help rekindle Shabbat all
at the same time."
Stephanie Perry, 32, of West
Bloomfield and husband Jeff found the
service spiritual and uplifting.
"We loved all the energy in there, it
was amazing. It was a wonderful way to
start Shabbat," she said. "I think it's a
nice way to end your week, a very peace-
ful way to end the week."

Following the service, participants
mingled and enjoyed sushi, fruit, cap-
puccino and desserts at an oneg that
gave Steve Grekin, 40, and wife Tara of
Bloomfield Hills the chance to see
friends and talk to people they'd spotted
across the room.
"It was really nice to see so many
young people, not just single people, but
old friends, married people. It was really
nice to see a vibrant temple member-
ship, people I hadn't seen, from religious
school, from youth group, other Jewish
people from the community," he said.
"It was amazing to see the vibrancy of
the young adult Jewish community. It
shows you something, that this is a nec-
essary function," Grekin said.
"Everybody wants to be involved, yet
the conventional ways just don't seem to
do it."
