Philip Johnson, the architect famous for his "Glass
House," designed Congregation Kneses Tifereth Israel
in Port Chester, NY: The size of the seating area
can be adjusted by moving the interior wall along a
bay system articulated by steel supports visible in the
side walls.

Temple Beth Zion, Buffalo, NY: Ben Shahn
designed the stained-glass windows, as well as the
mosaic decoration on the massive Decalogue panels
flanking the Ark.
