• The Sinai Guild and the Barbara Ann
Karmanos Cancer Foundation presents a
breast cancer benefit "Women in
Philanthropy," on Tuesday, Oct. 14
at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in
Southfield. Dr. Bob Arnot, NBC
special foreign correspondent and
former chief medical editor, will be
the featured speaker, discussing
"Controversies Surrounding Breast
Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment."
Event co-chairs are Rose Rita
Goldman of Bloomfield Hills and
Barbara Nemer of Franklin.
Proceeds from the benefit will
Dr. Bob Arnot
be used to purchase equipment for
breast cancer diagnosis and treatment at the Berry
Surgical Center in Farmington Hills and the
Alexander J. Walt Comprehensive Breast Center in
Detroit. A Faxitron Digital Radiography System for
the Berry Center will enable physicians to quickly
obtain images of biological samples, essential for
treating breast cancer. An R2 Image Checker for the
Walt Center in Detroit will improve efficiency in
reading films for cancer diagnosis.
For ticket information, contact The Sinai Guild
office at (248) 538-6501.
