Arts & Life Health Huron Valley-Sinai Hosts Cancer Event The Charach Cancer Treatment Center at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in Commerece Township will sponsor a free, day-long pro- gram for women living with the can- cer experience. The "Just For You" event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. It opens with continental break- fast and exhibits, and remarks by Natalie Charach and Chrisie Deming, pharmacist Kim Enokian speaking about natural medicines. At 10:15, Judith Grant Granader will have a show of the latest wigs, hair- pieces and scarves. At 10:45, makeup expert Karlene Goedde will give a demonstration, followed by Duanne Karr speaking on aromatherapy. At 11:45, dietitian Elizabeth Bailey will discuss nutri- tion and cancer. Lunch will follow. At 1:30 p.m., social worker Diane Wozny will talk about finding the right support group, followed by Jan Weal-Grubb showing massage tech- niques. At 2:30 p.m., Elana Ackerman, a cancer survivor and high school student, will talk about journaling, followed by Sandy Baummann discussing using humor during trying times. A panel of Huron Valley-Sinai experts will be featured at 3:30 p.m.: Dr. Kimberly Hart, clinical chief of radiation oncology; Dr. Vicki Baker, obstetrics-gynecology oncology; Dr. Kristine Duffy, obstetrics-gynecolo- gy; and Linda Miller, Women's Services nurse practitioner.
