A new chapter for Generation X-ers
will have its first meetina in October.
One of its leaders is Rofel's

old daughter, Leslie. "They've had two
planning meetings and they already
have 300 people on their mailing list,"
he says.
B'nai B'rith involves even younger
people through BBYO. The group's
Michigan region is the third largest in
United States, with 1,444 members
last year.
At the dinner, BBYO's three top
youth leaders, Whitney Aidenbaum of
West Bloomfield and Eddie Rubin
and Eric Hoffman of Farmington
Hills, helped blow out the candles on
the birthday cake commemorating
B'nai B'rith's 160 years.



JCC Fitness Club's
Hosts Open House

The Center Fitness Club will mark its
grand opening from .10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Jewish
Community center in West
Bloomfield.
Free activities for children and
adults will include games, fitness eval-
uations, prizes, refreshments, magi-
cians, health screenings, Yoga Chi and
Pilates demonstrations.

For adults, there will be fitness and
personal trainer consultations, blood
pressure checks, JCC tours and passes,
and refreshments.
For children, the JCC will have a
magician, face painting, clowns, games
and refreshments.
The Center Fitness Club, which
opened in May, is offering special
membership rates. Information will be
distributed Sept. 21, or call the Center

Young Israel Sets
Fund-Raiser

Young Israel of Oak Park will host the
retailers Top That and Designs To Be
as a synagogue fund-raiser Sunday,
Sept. 21, 1-6 p.m.
Top That, led by Karen Chai
Lowenberg, will offer a selection of
hats, hair accessories and snoods, as
well as robes, for women and girls.
During September, Top That will offer
all summer robes and hats at "buy-
one-get-half-off-a-second-item pric-
ing.'
Designs To Be, led by Gail Beale
and Kathy Bordoley, will offer various
Judaica items and holiday gifts. They
also carry baby gifts and children's
clothing.
Proceeds from this event will bene-
fit Young Israel. For information, call
