Eadima Benefit
oreen Hermelin recently hosted a
parlor meeting at her Bingham
Farms home to kick off Kadima's
upcoming concert with the musical
group the Four Tops. More than 100
supporters attended the event.
"This is the most exciting parlor
meeting we've ever had," said Sissi
Lapides.
The patrons listened to Merle
Schwartz, president, and Janette Shallal,
executive director, as they spoke about
Kadima's mission. The Southfield-based
D
organization provides residential, coun-
seling and supported employment serv-
ices to adults with psychiatric disabili-
ties, both Jewish and non-Jewish.
Kadima advocate Gail Katz and her
daughter, Hava, shared their moving
and painful experience with mental ill-
ness and how Kadima helped them
rebuild their lives.
Kadima presents the "Fabulous Four
Tops" 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at
the Detroit Opera House. For ticket
information, call (248) 559-8235. 7
