Saturday, Sept. 13,
at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. He is
the son of Carol and
Michael Havis and
brother of Solomon.

Benjamin attends Warner Middle
School in Farmington Hills. He enjoys
delivering meals on wheels with his bub-
bie and zayde.

projects include volunteering at Yad
Ezra in Berkley, at JARC residences and
with PEER Pals at school.

Michael Lewis Kuper will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Sept. 13, at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek Southfield.
He is the son of
Laurie and Sam
Kuper and brother
of Mara. Proud
grandparents are Fira
Kuper and Gloria
and David Leader.
He is also the grand-
son of the late
Morris Kuper.
Michael is an honor student at Hillel
Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. His mitzvah project
included working at JARC homes and
volunteering his time at the Laker
Center in West Bloomfield. Michael
also participated in Hadassah's program
for Children's Hospital.

Nina Jackson Levin, daughter of
Jonathan and Nancy
Levin of Bloomfield
Hills, will become a
bat mitzvah
Saturday, Sept. 13,
at Congregation Shir
Tikvah. She is the
granddaughter of
Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Alpern and
Ms. Marjorie
Jackson Levin.
As an act of community service, Nina
has been involved with a Lighthouse
after-school program in Pontiac, where
she has helped elementary school chil-
dren with reading and homework skills.

Shelby Alexander Levin will celebrate
his bar mitzvah on Saturday, Sept. 13, at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek West
Bloomfield, B'nai Israel Center. He is the
son of Julie Cash Levin and Jay and
Andrea Levin. His brother is Ari Levin
and stepsiblings are Rachel, Lindsay and
Eric Steingold.

Lighthouse of Oakland County and the
Ronald McDonald House of Detroit.
