JCC Gets Grant
From Target

The Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit has received a
grant of $4,000 from Target Corp.
The money will be used to sup-
port the Family Entertainment
Series at the JCC's Jimmy Prentis
Morris Building in Oak Park. Andy
Roisman, JPM Family Program
coordinator, received the check from
Pat Nebel, Target store manager at
Northland in Southfield.
The first event benefiting from
this grant will be held at the JPM
building 2 p.m.. Sunday, Nov. 9,
during the 52nd annual Jewish
Book Fair.
Len Levitt and friends, the cre-
ators of the PBS shows "Alef, Bet,
Blast Off" and "Bubbe's Boarding
House," will present a puppet show.
Tickets are $7 for JCC members;
$10 for non-members; $5 for chil-
dren 10 years and younger and free
for children younger than 2. Call

JCC Offers
Fall Classes

The Jewish Community Center in
Oak Park will offer a Judaic arts and
crafts workshop for seniors, taught
by Rifca Krolikowski and sponsored
by the Barbara Bloom Senior Adult
Art Fund, 9:30-11 a.m. Thursdays.
Cost for members is $10 for 10 ses-
sions and $20 for non-members.
Lianna Paskal will teach a
women's jazz class 8:15-9:15 p.m.
Thursdays beginning Oct. 16 for six
weeks. The cost is $65 for members
and $85 for non-members.
A beginning computer comfort
class for adults and advanced begin-
ners computer class for adults will
be taught by Fred and Karen
Gluckson starting Sept. 16 for eight
weeks. The beginning class is 10:30
a.m.-noon; the advanced beginners
class is 1-2:20 p.m. The cost is $75
for members and $95 for non-mem-
bers.
