The Games Begin

Detroit Maccabi teams precede their competition with a team meeting/barbecue.

ome Detroit Jewish teens were in
Houston or St. Louis last week, repre-
senting their community at the JCC
Maccabi Youth games. Next week,
another Detroit contingent will compete in New
Jersey.
But before the games began, on Aug. 3 the
Detroit teams met for last-minute instructions,
the distribution of uniforms and a barbecue din-
ner at the Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield. 11
